Voltaren Emulgel 2% is a gel based on diclofenac diethylammonium (DDA) which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Voltaren Emulgel 2% is also known as a topical pain relief product.
Voltaren Emulgel 2% works by reducing pain and inflammation which is caused by the body's response to anti-inflammatory effects of DDA. Voltaren Emulgel 2% reduces swelling and pain and does not cure pain. Voltaren Emulgel 2% provides pain relief in cases of muscle pain, rheumatic pain, back pain, headache, dental pain, arthritis, and pain secondary to traumatic conditions.
The typical dosage is one 2% (g) Voltaren Emulgel 2% gel applied daily for one day. In more severe cases, up to 12 weeks of treatment with Voltaren Emulgel 2% gel may be continued in which the severity of the condition increases from first symptoms to more serious complications (such as ulcers, perforation, bleeding, or perforation of the ulcer).
